Behind the Game Master screen, my writing includes game content and design, game-related fiction, and academic work surrounding games and learning. Sharing my experiences and ideas through writing is something that I love to do, and I am currently involved in a number of projects with companies seeking game-related expertise. This catalog covers the publications with which I have been involved at present.

The Green Knight: A Quest for Honor Starter Set

In 2019, I worked with A24 to design a tabletop role-playing game to be released with their film The Green Knight (2020). The game is a mystical exploration of honor and judgment, as your group of heroes overcome challenges on their way to face the Green Knight and seal their fate. The game is designed for 3-6 players (including a Game Master) and is a great tabletop experience for all skill levels.

A Quest For Honor Starter Set includes: Game Master's Guide (with Rules of Play, Official Encounters, and A24 Bonus Quests), Map of the Realm, 5 character sheets, and 20-sided die.

You can order your copy of the game here.

Adventurers love to ask tough questions—questions that can sometimes put Game Masters on the spot and put their creative skills to the test.

Never fear! Random Tables: Cities and Towns is an indispensable sidekick for creating unexpected treasures, plotting villainous townsfolk, and inspiring thrilling adventures. Designed for fans of tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, this reference book of randomized tables allows Game Masters to generate on-the-fly content for adventurers traveling, shopping, or simply passing through towns and cities.

Generate content for your game by rolling on the dozens of randomized tables provided within these pages. Use them to guide your adventure or just to kick-start your own imaginative juices. Keep your players guessing, your story fresh, and your setting vivid and alive with new, random non-player characters and locations every session!

Since the release of Dungeons & Dragons in 1974, role-playing games have spawned a vibrant industry and subculture whose characteristics and player experiences have been well explored. Yet little attention has been devoted to the ways RPGs have shaped society at large over the last four decades.

Role-playing games influenced video game design, have been widely represented in film, television and other media, and have made their mark on education, social media, corporate training and the military.

This collection of new essays illustrates the broad appeal and impact of RPGs. Topics range from a critical reexamination of the Satanic Panic of the 1980s, to the growing significance of RPGs in education, to the potential for "serious" RPGs to provoke awareness and social change.

“Raiding the Last Frontier: Overcoming the Language Barrier in the ESL Classroom,” an essay on the uses of RPGs in language education, was my contribution to this anthology. It served as the starting point for much of the content that eventually became part of my dissertation, and outlines much of my approach and philosophy regarding games and education.
